Last updated: 18 July 2026

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how NEXUS ("NEXUS", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use nexusmatchmaker.com, our mobile experience, our AI matching engine, our public directory, and any related services (together, the "Platform"). NEXUS is operated by Data Analytics & Consultancy Ltd, registered in England & Wales.

1. Introduction & Scope

1.1 Who we are

NEXUS is a business-to-business matching platform operated by Data Analytics & Consultancy Ltd. Our registered address and contact details are set out in Section 15.

1.2 What this policy covers

This policy applies to the Platform, including our website, the swipe-based discovery feed, the AI matching engine, the public directory, verification workflows, and in-platform messaging.

1.3 Who this applies to

This policy applies to registered users, visitors browsing public pages, and counterparties who appear in matches or the directory.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account & profile data

Name, business email, phone number, company name, sector, country, company size, website, role, experience level, budget range, service offerings, and what you are looking for.

2.2 Verification data

Identity documents, business registration numbers, and professional credentials submitted for trust badges.

2.3 Matching interaction data

Swipes, saves, passes, match acceptances, and messaging activity used to power and refine the matching engine.

2.4 Communications data

Messages exchanged between matched parties on the Platform, and messages you send to our support or information channels.

2.5 Usage & device data

Log data, IP address, browser and device identifiers, cookies, and session activity.

2.6 Third-party data

Data received from third parties you connect (e.g. LinkedIn / OAuth sign-in) and, where applicable, payment processors.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use personal data to: generate and rank matches based on industry fit, skills, budget, experience, trust, and activity; train and improve the semantic and embedding-based matching layer; calculate trust scores, verification badges, and activity signals; personalise the swipe feed; deliver the service, manage accounts, and provide customer support; send marketing communications (with an opt-out); and prevent fraud and preserve platform integrity.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)

We rely on: contract performance (to provide the Platform to you); legitimate interests (matching quality, product improvement, fraud prevention); consent (marketing, optional data, non-essential cookies); and legal obligation.

5. Automated Decision-Making & Profiling

The matching engine uses automated processing to score and rank potential counterparties. Scores combine hard-rule filters, weighted attribute scoring, and a semantic embedding layer trained on aggregated interaction data. You have the right to request human review of any automated decision that has a significant effect on you, to contest it, and to opt out of certain profiling by contacting us (Section 15).

6. How We Share Data

6.1 With matched counterparties

When a match is accepted, profile data (including company details, logo, tagline, sector, location, service focus, and what you are looking for) is visible to the counterparty.

6.2 Public directory visibility

Where you appear in the public directory, a limited public profile is visible to unauthenticated visitors; contact and connection actions are gated behind a match or authenticated session.

6.3 Service providers / processors

Hosting, analytics, verification vendors, email delivery providers, and payment processors acting under written processing agreements.

6.4 Business transfers

In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale, subject to equivalent protections.

6.5 Legal disclosures

Law enforcement, regulators, or courts where legally required.

6.6 We do not sell personal data.

7. International Data Transfers

Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on adequacy decisions or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and supplementary measures where required.

8. Data Retention

We retain account and profile data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, limited data may be retained for legal, dispute-resolution, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes. Interaction data used to train the matching engine is retained in aggregated or de-identified form.

9. Your Rights

You may request access to, rectification of, erasure of, portability of, restriction of, or objection to the processing of your personal data. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. You have the right to complain to a supervisory authority, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) or your local EU data protection authority. To exercise your rights, contact us using the details in Section 15.

10. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use essential cookies required to run the Platform, and analytics cookies to understand usage and improve the product. You can manage non-essential cookies through the cookie banner and your browser settings.

11. Data Security

We implement technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions, audit logging, and regular reviews. In the event of a personal data breach affecting your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and any relevant supervisory authority as required by law.

12. Children's Privacy

NEXUS is a business-to-business service intended for users aged 18 or older who are acting in a business capacity. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

13. Third-Party Links & Integrations

The Platform may link to counterparties' external sites, LinkedIn profiles, portfolios, or other third-party resources. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Platform or by email before they take effect.
